Do you love custom ROMs and use ASUS ZenFone2 or planning to buy one? If yes, then I have a good news to cheer you up! ASUS, Taiwanese Multinational Company, has offered a tool to unlock bootloader on ZenFone2. With the support of this tool from the Company itself now it has become less cumbersome and more secure than before. Link to download bootloader is given at the bottom.
To avail this feature provided by ASUS, you need to upgrade your existing ASUS ZenFone2 to the latest software version v2.20.50.49 or later. Once you update your phone to the latest version, you can download 'Unlock Device App' and use it to unlock bootloader of your ZenFone2. As soon as you unlock your device you are free to install new Custom ROMs available on the internet.
For those who don't know about Bootloader, bootloader is a program that loads up the operating system and configures the initial known state for the Kernel.

Though you could install custom ROMs on your phone, it comes with a risk of breaking your device (Soft Break or Hard Break). Therefore ASUS has warned about the further risks and has stated that,'Once you run Unlock Device App you will no longer be able to go back to your original device (unlocked condition). And the revised product won't be covered under warranty provided by ASUS.'
